Clean ozone generation process using advanced plasma technology

A large volume of pure ozone gas is generated rapidly and stably through the upgraded Dr.Ozone discharge chamber, developed on plasma technology. The appearance of corona discharge occurs when high alternating voltage is applied between two parallel electrodes through a dielectric material, creating a 35–38 kHz oscillating discharge zone. When combined with a highly pure oxygen stream (>92%) extracted directly from ambient air and circulated between the electrodes, oxygen atoms (O) are continuously separated and quickly recombine with oxygen molecules (O₂), forming ozone gas (O₃).

Operating principle of the Dr.Ozone D50S industrial ozone generator

The operating process of the Dr.Ozone D50S includes an inverter circuit system, pulse transformers using 100% solid-state components that meet international quality standards, and a CPU control board combined with specialized ICs to optimize performance, signal processing, and industrial noise resistance. The closed oxygen separation system (>92%) integrates Zeolite, Silicagen, and high-aluminium ceramics to ensure the D50S maintains stable ozone output during continuous operation.

The Dr.Ozone D50S generator is also equipped with a three-stage cooling system, including three physical cooling fans, aluminium heat sinks for the discharge chamber, and H2O-Green water-cooling technology to reduce chamber temperature. This enhances the O-atom separation process and boosts ozone formation efficiency, even during long-term continuous operation.

Features of the Dr.Ozone D50S industrial ozone generator

Safe and efficient operation with low-water protection

The low-water cooling warning function uses sensors to monitor water level and flow. When insufficient water is detected, the system activates alarms (lights and sound) and typically shuts down the machine automatically. This protects the system from overheating, ensures stable performance, and extends the machine’s lifespan.

High-performance quartz discharge tube

The D50S discharge tube is a technological highlight, combining micro-gap water-cooling and high-quality quartz tube construction. This advanced cooling ensures stable ozone generation, reduced energy consumption, and superior durability, preventing ozone corrosion and maintaining consistent output. This combination significantly enhances both efficiency and lifespan of the Dr.Ozone D50S generator.

Premium French molecular sieve oxygen generator

The integrated oxygen generator ensures a stable supply of high-purity oxygen for efficient ozone production. French Zeolite molecular sieves and PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption) technology deliver oxygen with purity above 90%, maximizing ozone conversion efficiency.

The oil-free air compressor provides clean airflow, preventing contamination and protecting the ozone system. Since no oil is carried into the oxygen stream, the ozone generator is safeguarded against corrosion, deposit formation, and unwanted by-products—ensuring high ozone purity and safety for operators and the environment.

Application of Dr.Ozone systems in natural seawater aquaculture and recirculating filtration

The Dr.Ozone D50S is widely used in aquaculture water treatment to increase productivity and improve water quality. The model shown is a variation of a RAS (Recirculating Aquaculture System), using natural seawater as the primary source. The water is first filtered through a sand filtration system, then stored in large tanks and recirculated through fish-rearing units.

When water is reused, the first priority is quality control. Ozone plays a crucial role in improving water quality, as reused water often contains high levels of dissolved organic matter that promote bacterial growth, viruses, and pathogens.

Advantages of using ozone in aquaculture

Coagulation of suspended solids

Ozone can coagulate or cause fine suspended solids to form flocs, making it easier to remove them through filtration and sedimentation.

Reduction of dissolved organic carbon (DOC)

Ozone modifies DOC properties through oxidation and polymerization, allowing DOC to be removed through biological filtration and sedimentation processes.

Conversion of toxic nitrite to harmless nitrate

High organic load, leftover feed, and waste create conditions where toxic nitrite accumulates. Ozone rapidly oxidizes nitrite into nitrate, which is far less harmful to aquatic organisms.

Elimination of bacteria, fungi, viruses, and pathogens

Ozone quickly inactivates harmful microorganisms, helping prevent disease outbreaks and reducing mortality rates in aquaculture systems.
