Along with its modern HEPA + Carbon filter, which removes ultra-fine dust particles and hundreds of harmful substances generated during welding, as well as its four heavy-duty caster wheels for easy mobility, the KH-4800 Plus welding fume extractor also has one major difference compared to the KH-4800 that customers can easily recognize.

As its name suggests, KH-4800 Plus is equipped with an additional extraction hood. It is commonly used for filtering smoke and dust generated from cast iron, steel materials, electric welding, cutting machines, metal grinding, etc., with an airflow capacity of 4800 m³/h. Depending on actual needs and the intensity of welding fumes, Dr.Air’s consultants will provide full product information to ensure maximum efficiency and optimal cost for customers with clear commitments.

What makes the KH-4800 Plus different from the KH-4800?

Structural Details

Formation of Welding Fume Dust

Welding fume particles range from below 0.01–1 micron at the source and 1–2 microns in the worker’s breathing zone. These particle sizes directly affect the respiratory system. Larger particles over 5 microns will deposit in the upper respiratory tract, while particles from 0.1–5 microns can reach and remain inside the lungs.

Workers exposed to welding fumes for extended periods may be at risk of developing bronchitis, pneumonia, lung cancer, asthma, and some eye and skin disorders.

Welding fume particles are small enough to enter and accumulate inside the lungs. Over time, they may affect blood flow. Analysis shows that fumes produced from MMA and FCAW welding contain significant amounts of Chromium (VI), Manganese, Nickel, and several other elements. Stainless steel contains about 10.5% Chromium.

In metal cutting, welding, and mechanical processing industries, the most toxic substance of concern is Chromium (VI), followed by Manganese, Lead, and others. These gases and particles are extremely dangerous and have serious health impacts.
